EC Council & ICITP, enabling South Africa through InfoSec & Cybersecurity Professional Learning Programmes (PLP)
EC & ICITP partner to address South Africa’s InfoSec & Cybersecurity critical & scarce skills gap through PIVOTAL training.
ICITP a professional body for the South African ICT sector has partnered with the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants, EC Council, arguably the world’s best InfoSec & cybersecurity certification & skills provider. The two organisations have launched a campaign to tackle South Africa’s cybersecurity concerns and demand for more practitioners of the much needed critical and scarce skill.

The partnership seeks to create awareness, educate, and give South Africans an opportunity to get involved in the information security and cybersecurity profession. Offered are programmes from a fundamental and awareness level on how South African can secure themselves from cyber-attacks while using digital technologies, to advanced levels such as Ethical Hacking for critical & scarce job roles.

The EC Council have collaborated to align EC Council learning programmes with ICITPs professional designation recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). These skills interventions are recognised as Professional Learning Programmes (PLP), referring to PIVOTAL programmes to ensure all learning is credit-bearing for candidates involved. This means skills & training providers as well as ICT companies or employers now have access to accreditation to deliver these Professional Learning Programme (PLP).

EC Council and ICITP partnership’s social-economic impact is to develop digital citizen that know how to secure themselves when getting involved in the digital economy, as well as to increase the quantity & quality of hyper specialised IT Certified Professionals, ITCP(SA) in Cybersecurity, that will help combat South Africa’s numerous cyber-attacks.
