What is the Critical Skills Work Visa?

The Critical Skills Work Visa enables foreign nationals with skills in critical demand to live and work in South Africa. It supports the government’s objectives under the National Development Plan (NDP), Industrial Policy Action Plan (IPAP), and New Growth Plan.

As a SAQA-recognized professional body for the ICT sector, ICITP plays a crucial role in this process by evaluating and confirming that applicants possess the required qualifications and professional standing in Information and Communication Technology.

Important Notice

ICITP provides professional assessment letters for Critical Skills Visa applications. The final visa decision rests with the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).

Application Process

ICITP Assessment

Apply to ICITP for a Critical Skills assessment and professional letter confirming your ICT qualifications.

Documentation

Second stepGather required documents including qualifications, passport, professional registration, and ICITP letter. description.

DHA Application

Submit your Critical Skills Work Visa application to the Department of Home Affairs with all supporting documents.

Visa Issuance

Upon approval, you receive a Critical Skills Work Visa valid for up to 5 years, allowing you to work in South Africa.
